YogaHour with Live Music by Dante Bucci!

6PAN1T

Thursday, December 5th, 5:30-6:30pm at Maha Yoga and Healing Arts, only $7!

Back by popular demand! If you were able to join us for the initial live music class with Dante in October, you know how special this class will be. And if you missed the first one, now is your opportunity to get in on this fantastic experience.

For this class we will be graced by the presence of Dante Bucci, one of the most-recognized Handpan players in the world, for some amazing live music. If you have never heard him play, you can check out his youtube channel to get a sense of what his music sounds like. Also, he will have released his new album by then, so you’ll have a chance to snatch one of those up at the class. I use his songs on my playlists all the time when I teach. To have him play live is a wonderful treat. And, maybe the best part, there is no extra charge for the class. It is still only $7 for a live concert and a great yoga class. What more could you ask for to start of your Thursday night?

Yoga for Runners Workshop

Teagan runners

Sunday, October 13th, 1-3:30pm at Maha Yoga and Healing Arts

Running builds muscle strength and burns fat. It keeps your heart and lungs strong, blood pressure in check and reduces the risk of heart attack. However, runners are all too familiar with pulled muscles and joint pain that accompany training. Running often exaggerates imbalances in the body which can, over time, cause injuries.

A yoga practice will help prevent injuries by increasing your flexibility and bringing balance to your body. It will improve your performance by strengthening your whole body as well as your mental focus. In this 2 ½ hour workshop we will learn poses to increase range of motion, improve flexibility, stretch out your muscles, and relax your mind. We will focus on hamstrings, quadriceps, hips, core strength, and breathing.

During the workshop we will:

  • Break down poses and alignment principles for a safe and effective yoga practice
  • Explore modifications and the use of props
  • Discuss how to strategically incorporate yoga into your training schedule
  • Provide you with a sequence designed specifically for runners

Join Teagan and Lisa to find out how yoga can and will make you a better runner. Yoga will compliment your running to improve performance, help prevent injury, and lead to a more balanced you! $25 by 10/6, $35 after.

Yoga Workshop | Taste the Rainbow: Yoga + Food w/ Teagan (Maha Yoga – Center City)

When: Sunday July 21st, 1-4pm

The yoga tradition describes nine rasas or “tastes” that express our emotional states. In this workshop we will explore the full spectrum of taste in our lives. We will start with a two-hour yoga practice in which we will investigate how the nine rasas impact our internal landscape both on and off the mat. Following this we will enjoy a vegan lunch prepared by Teagan (a Parisian trained chef) using only the best seasonal ingredients and including the five primary tastes we taste on our tongues. Join me for an afternoon of yoga and food that allows you to experience all that life has to offer. $40 by 6/14, $50 after.

Menu:

  • Sweet mango with macadamia nuts & avocados
  • A salad with peppery arugula, melon & pear slices
  • Sun-ripened zucchini ribbons with zesty lemon sauce
  • Fresh-cut pasta with fingerling potatoes, crisp haricot verts & home-made pesto
  • Heart-and-soul warming plum crumble
